This bipartisan bill requires the Bureau of Prisons to create a system to allow those in federal custody the right to confidentially communicate over e-mail with their defense attorneys without government monitoring.
(Last Congress, this bill passed the House by unanimous voice vote.)
This legislation expanded the rights of those accused in criminal trials in Virginia to compel discovery of evidence being used by the prosecution as proof of their guilt.
